Privacy Policy
Placeholder — needs legal review before public launch. This is a plain-English description of what the site currently does with your data. It is not written by a lawyer and it is not a substitute for a reviewed privacy policy.
What we collect
- Your email address and password. Handled by our authentication provider (Supabase). Passwords are stored hashed — we never see them.
- Your profile. Display name, username, bio, and profile photo if you upload one. All of this is public by design.
- What you post. Books, reviews, ratings, reading status, likes, and comments. All public.
- Reports you file. Visible only to you and to us.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data.
- We don't run advertising.
- We don't track you across other websites, and we don't embed third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
Third parties we use
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
- Vercel — hosting and delivery.
- Google Books and Open Library — book metadata and cover images. When you search for a book, the search term is sent to these services from our server, not from your browser.
Cookies
We set cookies for one purpose: keeping you logged in. There are no advertising or tracking cookies. Clearing them logs you out.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account yourself at any time from your profile settings. It removes your profile, posts, comments, likes, and uploaded images immediately.
Children
Despite the name, this site is intended for adults. It is not designed for or directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we'll update this page. Since the site is new, expect it to change as the product does.
